A CANCER charity has cashed in, thanks to supermarket customers in Dumbarton.
Macmillan Cancer Support received £4000 following a week-long collection drive at Morrisons.
The money raised exceeded all expectations, and will be used to fund vital cancer services locally.
Volunteers from Macmillan’s Dumbarton Committee, who organised the event, praised the people of Dumbarton and thanked all those who gave so generously.
Ian McBain, chairman, said: “May I send our sincere thanks to everyone who assisted, supported and generously donated in our week-long fundraising event at Morrisons.
“Special thanks to all those who donated raffle prizes, in particular, Thomas Smith and Sons and Sculpture Hair Design. The fantastic sum will be used in the local area to help people affected by cancer.”
