GARTOCHARN musician Griogair Labhruidh has been nominated for a top singing award.
The 25-year-old is in the running for the Gaelic Singer of the Year title in the Scots Traditional Music Awards.
Now former Gartocharn Primary pupil Griogair is hoping local people will cast their vote for him in the awards which are decided by online voting.
Griogair, a member of the well know Lawrie piping family, runs his own record label, Dunach Records.
Regarded as one of the most popular Gaelic singers and pipers of his generation, former Dumbarton and District Pipe Band member Griogair first came to prominence through winning the Best New Gaelic Song competition in Stornoway in 2005.
A classically trained guitarist, he has since concentrated on songwriting and regularly performs with top musicians.
Cast your vote for Griogair at www.handsupfortrad.co.uk/tradmusicawards/ no later than Friday, November 21.
