Dumbarton church welcomes friends from Gambia

A DUMBARTON church welcomed friends from the Gambia recently.

Fr Jimmy Cole and his wife, Matilda, are currently in the UK visiting family.

They spent several days with St Augustine’s minister, the Rev Kenny Macaulay and his wife, Linda, enjoying a parish day, lunch and service with the congregation.

Fr Jimmy was priest-in-charge of St Andrew’s Church in Lamin, where Kenny and Linda worship when in the country with the Gambia Education Association.

The charity, established by Kenny several years ago, funds the running of the Dumbarton London Corner Community School.

Fr Jimmy has recently been posted to Christchurch in Serrekunda, the town where the school is based.

He and Matilda enjoyed meeting members and friends of St Augustine’s at a lunch in the church hall.
