KIRKTONHILL Tennis Club has been preening the tennis talent of the future – with specialist coaching sessions.
Club coach Douglas Mackechnie has been delighted with the turnout, and everyone is already looking forward to the new season in the spring.
It has been a hugely successful year at the club. Membership has grown by 70 per cent, and more than 40 children have regularly attended junior coaching during the summer months.
Special thanks must go to the parents who have supported the club and participated so enthusiastically in the fun days.
It's not only the youngsters who have progressed so well this year. In league competitions, the gents' team won promotion and only narrowly missed out on winning the division championship.
The ladies have also worked hard and maintained their place in Division Two.
After a busy summer of coaching and family events, the veterans' leagues got under way and there was again success for the ladies first team, this time winning promotion for the first time to Division Two.
The second ladies vets and the gents vets also competed well in their respective leagues.
The final event of the year is the Christmas quiz and hamper raffle which takes place at Cardross Golf Club at 7.30pm on Saturday, December 6.
