Swimmers prove they’re getting better by lengths

WEST Dunbartonshire swimmers turned in an excellent performance at a competition in Saltcoats last week – coming in fifth place with several personal bests achieved.

The event, held at Auchenharvie Sports Centre, saw many of the West of Scotland’s top clubs compete.

With several personal bests, and Chloe Barclay breaking three club age group records and Stuart Smith breaking one age group record, the West Dunbartonshire side finished a very creditable fifth.

Head coach Stevie McKirdy said: “Our swimmers are progressing to an exceptional level and are preparing well for the Scottish short course championships in January.”

The club would like to thank Rose Gray at Paver Systems, West Dunbartonshire Sports Council and the staff at the Vale of Leven swimming pool.
