CLYDESDALE Harriers runners continued their fine form on the weekend of March 14 and 15.
First was the club’s own Dunky Wright 5k, which started in the Business Park and finished at the Forth and Clyde Canal.
Usually this is a fast, flat course but times were unfortunately hindered by extremely strong winds which slowed the runners down somewhat.
First Clydesdale Harrier home, and running a personal best in the process, was Iain Robertson (17.39), followed by Pamela McCrossan (19.58), Pete Cartwright (20.58), Marina McCallum (21.21), Alan Lorimer (21.35), Tom Collins (21.45), Karen McPhail (25.56) and Donald MacLeod (34.45).
Pamela was also the winner of first veteran and Pamela, Marina and Karen were winners of first female team.
The other race that weekend was what many would describe as the ultra race, the Glasgow-Edinburgh event. Two Harriers were running, Aileen Scott and Peter Halpin.
Because they were running at similar paces, they kept together to finish equal 12th place, both with a time of 9h 48m 43s.
Next race for the harriers is the Jim Dingwall Memorial Race (Round the Houses 10k) in Grangemouth on Sunday.
