Clydesdale harrier is first lady in Stranraer 10k

PERFECT conditions helped Clydesdale Harrier Pamela McCrossan to the first lady prize at the Stranraer 10k last weekend.

Striding home in a time of 40.07, Pamela was the first Harrier and first lady home, followed just minutes later by fellow Harrier Marina McCallum, who finished third lady overall in 44.44.

Last month saw the Dunbartonshire AAA Cross Country Relays take place at Posties Park in Dumbarton.

First up were the under-11 boys and girls individual races.

The winner of the race was Clydesdale Harrier’s own Rachel Busby running the 1500m course in 7.55mins.

Also running were Andrew Hunter (9.59) and Lewis Hay (11.00).

Next were the young males and females relays, all running 2500 metres.

The boys team of Connor Shields (11.37), Tony Dolan (10.44) and Peter Bowman (9.21) had a total time of 31.42 while the girls team of Kirsty Alexander (11.29), Chloe Wright (12.10) and Kirsty Kelly (12.28) came home in 36.07.

The Senior/U20/Veteran Men and Women relays running 4000m rounded off proceedings.

The ladies had Pamela McCrossan (14.16), Fiona McCue (16.08) and Anne Murray (15.15) run home in a total time of 45.39 to win second team prize.

Pamela was also the winner of the fastest lap by a veteran.

The men had two teams. The A team comprised of James Austen (12.25), Iain Robertson (13.15), Paul Carroll (13.18) and Gary Dick (13.26) coming fifth overall in a time of 52.24 with James Austen also winning the fastest lap by a veteran.

The B team had John Foley (13.30), Gerry Montgomery (13.33), Ryan Nelson (20.47) and Michael Diver (13.50) for 11th team overall in 61.40.
