THE finale of the Polaroid 10k series proved a winner on Sunday as athletes from around Scotland and beyond crossed the finishing line at Loch Lomond Shores.
The Vale of Leven leg of the series coincided with the Get Active festival which provided a perfect backdrop for the 659 athletes who completed the race.
A pre-race fun run saw children slip on their running shoes before sitting back to watch and cheer as the adults took centre stage.
Once again it was African runners who dominated the race, as Shettleston Harrier Eritrea’s Amanuel Hagos completed a hat-trick of Polaroid race wins in a spectacular 30.07, followed closely by club mates Tewoldeberhan Mengisteab (30.20) and Tsegezab Woldemichael (30.20).
Fellow Shettleston Harrier Eritrea, Amleset Tewelde was the first woman home in 35.52, followed by Edinburgh University’s Rosie Smith (36.07) and Alison Docherty of Central AC (36.44).
