LOCH Lomond rugby club got their pre-season off to a bang against Clydesdale this weekend.
Lomond toted up a fantastic 50 points against the visitors, an impressive start to the season despite the lower league opposition.
A lack of first-team regulars didn’t stop Lomond taking full advantage – starting the match the stronger of the two sides.
With just five minutes gone, progressive work from the Lomond forwards released the makeshift back line to take the first try of the day.
The home side continued to build on their lead and dominated the first half, touching down over the line a further four times before Clydesdale managed to get themselves on the score sheet.
Moments before the break, Mathieson broke from his own 22 and raced over 70 metres, only to be tackled two metres short of the try line.
Lomond emerged with fresh legs after the break and an uncharacteristic break from Norrie Snr set up Nicholson for his second of the day.
Malia and McAdam added their names to the try sheet before time, rounding off an impressive start to the season for Lomond.
The club is still seeking players of all ages and abilities.
The senior squad trains at the Dillichip, Bonhill on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7pm, so if you're new to the sport or the area, please go along and join in.
