GOLFER Ross Bain may have made the cut in Cambodia this week – but failed to rake in enough cash to retain his playing rights for 2009.
The 33-year-old former Cardross man added a disappointing round of 77 on Saturday to a steady 72 and 71 at the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open at Phokeethra Country Club – but his final round 71 wasn’t enough to save his Asian tour card for next year.
His earnings of $1110 for the 54th placed finish saw the Scot finish a devastating 11 places off the coveted Order of Merit Top 60 in 71st on $70,620.
Meanwhile, Clare Queen missed the cut at the final Ladies European Tour event of the season.
The 25-year-old Carrick representative finished tied for 70th alongside fellow Scot and friend Lynn Kenny at the Dubai Ladies Masters.
However, despite the poor finish, Queen’s spot on next season’s tour is safe as she finished 48th in the moneylist.
