Orr heads for Portugal

HELENSBURGH’S Gary Orr will be hoping to make his mark on what could be one of his last events of the season.

The 41-year-old golf ace will head to Portugal’s Oceanico Victoria Golf course in Vilamoura for the Portugal Masters this week in search of yet another big finish.

Having already banked three top ten finishes in the 2008 season, Orr will be aiming for a fourth.

The course, which has been used already this year for a PGA Europro tour event, provides a fantastic challenge in one of the most exclusive golf resorts in Portugal.

Orr, who currently sits 66th in the European Tour Order of Merit with 421,533, is looking to secure his tour card for next season and will line up alongside fellow countrymen Colin Montgomerie and Marc Warren to fight for a share of the 3 million purse.
