Preview of Dumbarton FC v Cowdenbeath

THERE are some fixtures which look ominous on paper after a defeat like Saturday’s.

But if Dumbarton’s last visit to Cowdenbeath is anything to go by, there just might be a surprise result in store.

The previous trip to Central Park, in November, was also off the back of a heavy defeat – the 3-0 Scottish Cup loss at Brechin.

Sons then came away from Fife with a goalless draw – and a similar result at Cowden this Saturday would be readily accepted. A win would be even better!

The Blue Brazil are four points clear of Arbroath at the top, having missed the chance to extend that lead on Saturday.

Arbroath could only draw 1-1 at Stirling Albion, but Cowden were involved in a goalless stalemate at home to Stenhousemuir.

They have been winners on both their trips to the Rock this season, but if things are put right in training this week Sons have a chance of causing a shock.

Kick-off is l 3pm, with the Sons Supporters Trust’s bus leaving Dumbarton Town Centre at noon. Seats are still available, priced at £6 for trust members and £9 for non-members.
