Jim Chapman's view: Dumbarton FC v Elgin City

WE are taking nothing for granted and enjoyed our celebrations after the Elgin game, but will be in training this week preparing as we usually do to face Annan Athletic.

I will be demanding three points at Galabank and will never settle for mediocrity.

It was obvious from our performance what potential there is in the squad. Over the piece we are where we are on merit, and we showed again today how well we can play.

I have heard it said that you cannot win the Third Division by playing football, but there you go. We have got where we are by doing that, but we are not over the finish line just yet.

I will never change my philosophy on football. We changed the system at times this season, but have always worked hard and it has picked up again.

However, the game is always about players and I will never change how I go about the game. Some don’t realise what goes on behind the scenes at the club – there has been a lot of transfer activity this season.

My assistant Alan Adamson and I have worked very hard and sometimes after a setback, it can take some time to build your players up again. However, we are as proud as punch for them because they deserve everything they get from here.

It is not all over yet but there is not a better high than to see the smile on your players’ faces as ours had on Saturday.

We need to finish the job at Annan. I hope the fans who were there on Saturday will be out in force at Annan and welcome us home as well.
