Dumbarton maintain pressure on leaders

DUMBARTON kept the pressure on Third Division leaders Cowdenbeath with a 2-0 win at Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

Ben Gordon headed the opening goal close on half time, with Ross Clark sealing the win 15 minutes from the end.

Sons are now just six points behind Cowden with a game in hand, which they play tomorrow night (Tuesday) at Forfar.

The league leaders could only draw 1-1 at home to Elgin City on Saturday, giving Sons a further boost.

The club is also helping to finance free supporters' buses to the remaining away fixtures, including next Saturday's crucial game at Cowdenbeath.
