Dumbarton in home defeat

DUMBARTON were beaten 2-0 at home by Annan Athletic on Saturday with a dreadful display.

First half goals by Kevin Neilson and Mike Jack, the second from the penalty spot, gave the visitors victory.

It was only Sons' second home league defeat this season but it could well mean the end of their title ambitions.

Although they still have a game in hand on leaders Cowdenbeath, they are now 10 points behind.

Their next game is next Tuesday when they travel to face Elgin City.
