Dumbarton stage late cup comeback

Ross County 2 Dumbarton 2

DUMBARTON staged a remarkable fightback in their Homecoming Scottish Cup third round tie on Saturday against Ross County.

The Dingwall side were two goals up through a double by Sean Higgins, but Sons substitute Derek Carcary netted twice in the final 10 minutes.

County, who are two divisions above their opponents, had dominated the game in the Highlands for long spells.

The 2-2 draw means that the teams will replay at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium on Tuesday, December 9, at 7.45pm.

But firstly Sons have an important league fixture this weekend when they travel to face fellow promotion contenders Cowdenbeath.
