Berwick game must be priority for Dumbarton

THE big one away to Stenhousemuir is looming for Dumbarton, but before that there is a home game against Berwick Rangers on Saturday.

It is a welcome return to the Strathclyde Homes Stadium for Sons, who have not played at home since Saturday, October 4, against Annan Athletic.

Berwick started the season promisingly but have been struggling, and are second bottom of the third division. They also exited the Homecoming Scottish Cup on Saturday, losing 2-1 at home to Albion Rovers.

Sons won the first meeting of the sides this season 2-1 at Shielfield in August, with goals by Gordon Lennon and Fergus Tiernan.

The Borderers are managed by Allan McGonigal, formerly assistant manager to Brian Fairley at Dumbarton. Former Sons players Steven Bonar and John Dillon should returng to their former home ground.

Kick-off on Saturday is 3pm, with the supporters' bar open from 1pm.
