Keeper Mark finally gets his Dumbarton debut

MARK McGeown finally made his Dumbarton debut in Saturday’s 2-2 draw away to Forfar Athletic.

The 38-year-old came off the bench at half time after first-choice keeper Dave McEwan was injured.

But although Sons took a 2-0 lead, the veteran was beaten twice as the Loons grabbed a share of the points.

Mark said: “I was delighted to get back playing. It’s been quite frustrating sitting on the bench but goalkeepers just have to wait for their chance.

“Outfield players can usually get the last 20 minutes or so of a game but keepers don’t have that many opportunities.

“Dave took his chance as I was injured in pre-season and for me it’s been a case of waiting for a game.”
