Dumbarton FC: On-target Paul McLeod gunning for Annan

PAUL McLeod got his second goal for Dumbarton on Saturday then warned Annan Athletic – we’re gunning for you.

The striker put Sons 2-0 up at Forfar but was disappointed at having to settle for only a point as the Loons battled back, writes Andy Galloway.

And he is ready for the team to take out its frustration on the SFL newcomers when they visit the Rock on Saturday.

He said: “We were disappointed not to get the three points. Obviously there was a bit of slackness, but that kind of thing happens and we just need to get on with it.

“It was good to get my first goal from open play. Big Paul Keegan made the keeper pull off a fantastic save and I was there for the rebound. But I will hold my hands up and say that I should have scored more, although their keeper was in good form.”

Paul feels he has settled in well since his transfer deadline day move from SPL outfit Hamilton Accies.

He added: “The players are a really good group to play alongside and they are also a talented lot.

“I’m really happy I joined and have been impressed by things so far. The only disappointment is that we have taken seven points out of nine since I joined when it should be all nine.

“Obviously our aim is to win the league but we just need to take each game as it comes.”
