Sons Supporters Trust give Dumbarton FC £4000

THE Sons Supporters Trust handed over a cheque for £4000 to Dumbarton Football Club ahead of the game with Cowdenbeath on Saturday.

As part of the Raise the Rock Day celebrations, the trust’s cheque completed its share payments for its seat on the board at Strathclyde Homes Stadium.

Trust chairwoman Denise Currie said: “This is a terrific achievement by the fans. When we negotiated our seat on the board four years ago, we agreed a time period to pay up the required money.

“On Saturday we paid our last instalment - six years ahead of schedule. I’m really proud of what the fans have achieved and we can now go on to bigger and better things. Sons fans are the best in the world.”
