BEN Gordon continued his progress in senior football with his first goal for Dumbarton on Saturday.
The summer signing from Strathclyde University Amateurs got Sons’ second goal in the 3-1 win away to Albion Rovers.
He said: “It was a good away win and quite a comfortable one. It’s always good to get a goal, and Saturday’s was my first in senior football.
“I got my fair share of goals in amateur football but I hadn’t really thought about when my first senior goal would come.
“Everybody has to try and contribute goals, especially since we’ve been struggling to finish teams off.
“It was an important result after most of the teams above us also won.”
Ben, 22, is now focusing on Saturday’s Raise the Rock Day encounter with second-placed Cowdenbeath., hoping that Sons’ convincing victory at Cliftonhill can spur them on to another three points against the Blue Brazil.
He added: “Hopefully we can kick on from where we left off on Saturday.”
