DUMBARTON are back in action this Saturday when they travel to Coatbridge to face Albion Rovers.
And the game is a chance for players and management to win bragging rights over their former clubs.
Three years ago Sons gaffer Jim Chapman and Rovers boss Paul Martin were managing each other’s teams. So on Saturday both have the opportunity to prove their previous clubs they were wrong to axe them.
Meanwhile, several players will also face their ex-clubs, with Gordon Lennon and Iain Chisholm returning to familiar territory for Sons. And Rovers players Robert Walker, Danny Ferry and Tommy Coyne all used to wear the Dumbarton colours.
Sons won three of the sides’ four meetings last season, the final encounter being a 1-0 win at Cliftonhill with Mark Canning scoring from distance.
Kick off is at 3pm, with the Sons Supporters Trust’s bus leaving the Counting House in Dumbarton High Street at 1pm.
