Bowlers Kevin Anderson and Emma McIntyre are to figure on the international stage next month.
The Dumbarton pair are to play for Scotland in the ladies and gents’ Under-25 International Series over the weekend of February 9-10.
Kevin will play for the gents’ team at Newport IBC in Wales, while Emma will be part of the ladies’ squad at Bromsgrove IBC in Birmingham.
The spring session of the indoor bowling league is well under way and Dumbarton and District can look forward to several fixtures.
The gents are at home to West of Scotland on Saturday and will take on Coatbridge on Sunday in the team championship. That match will take place at Clydebank IBC.
On Saturday, January 26 the national triples playdowns will take place. The gents will play West of Scotland and the ladies will face Whiteinch, both games being played at Glasgow IBC.
Sunday, February 3 sees the Greengauge Junior Challenge West Qualifiers, with Dumbarton competing against Allander, Cumbernauld, Coatbridge and Fintry.
Then on Saturday, February 9, the gents are at home to Paisley in the Scottish Cup.
On Wednesday, February 13 the senior gents have their Scottish Cup tie against Lanarkshire, which will be played at West of Scotland IBC.
The ladies’ Scottish Cup tie then takes place on Saturday, February 16, against West of Scotland at Paisley IBC.
The gents’ fours national playdowns will be on Saturday, February 23, with the club represented by Robert Kennedy Jr, Robert Collins, Scott Hardie and Brian Neeson.
On the same day the ladies’ fours match against West of Scotland will be played at Prestwick. Then on Sunday, February 24, the west qualifiers will be held for the Irn Bru School of Excellence. Again Dumbarton will be joined by Allander, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Fintry.
