Dumbarton bowler makes semi-finals of national singles event

DUMBARTON and District Indoor Bowling Club’s Kenny Paton was in action at the national singles event at Abbeyview Bowling Club.

In the first round he beat Fraserburgh’s Alan Bruce by 21 shots to 19, then K Nibloe of Prestwick 21-18.

He then made it three out of three when he beat A Barker of Elgin 21-13 in the quarter-finals.

The next round is being held at Ardrossan Bowling Club on Saturday, December 3, where Kenny will face a player from the host club.

The gents seniors were playing at home, where they beat Cowal, with only one rink being defeated.

The ladies were away at Whiteinch, but lost by 87 shots to 78.

ON Friday, October 7, Dumbarton Associated Clubs held their prizegiving at Dumbuck BC.
