DUMBUCK Bowling Club held their annual presentation of prizes recently in their new clubhouse.
The prizewinners for the season were (runners-up in brackets):
Club Championship: H McLaren (C Wilson); Dumbuck Trophy: A McLaren (A McGhee); Handicap Trophy: A McGhee (C McLaren); Two-bowl Singles: S Wilson (A Graham); Non-prizewinners: A McGhee, C McLaren.
Senior Championship: C Wilson (H Mair); Pairs Championship: D Nixon, A Graham (V Kaney, R Robinson); Two-bowl Pairs: F Sharp, H Girvan.
Adam Nixon Triples: C Wilson, Richard Robinson, S Wilson; Dan McLaren Triples: W McColl, C Wilson, Ronnie Robinson.

DUMBARTON and District Indoor BC’s senior gents were in Scottish Cup action against Coatbridge IBC at Allander IBC.
The game turned out to be a real cliffhanger, with first one team taking the lead and then the other.
In the end, the score finished 66 shots all, requiring an extra end to be played.
Stewart Banks lost three shots, David Cole lost one shot, Robert Kennedy scored one shot and Jim Marsland scored five shots to give Dumbarton the end by six shots to four and victory by 72 shots to 70.
Next week the Dumbarton team travel to West of Scotland where they will play Lanarkshire.

THE gents team just missed out on promotion in their final inter-club match against Irvine despite a convincing win.
As the game progressed they grew stronger and ran out convincing winners by 106-67.
But Paisley IBC won their game and it is they who will gain promotion to the Premier Division.

IN THE junior section’s top ten competition, for players aged 16 and under, Dumbarton were at home to Auchinleck.
The Dumbarton team made the better start, with Richard O'Malley opening up a considerable lead in the singles, and he gave the Dumbarton team a good start with a convincing win by 21 shots to 1.
Both the pairs and the fours games were extremely close and both games finished level.
The young inexperienced triples team from Dumbarton started off well, but were unable to shake off a strong Auchinleck triple and went down by 21 shots to 5.
However, this was enough to give Dumbarton victory by four points and 51 shots to four points and 47 shots. They will play Lanarkshire IBC in the next round.
