DUMBARTON and District IBC’s senior gents and ladies teams were in action last Saturday.
The senior gents team kicked off the second half of the season against Cowal IBC looking for a winning start to 2010.
The home team got off to a good start and soon established an early lead, but Dumbarton got themselves back into the game, and it became extremely close.
In the latter part of the game, however, the Dumbarton team moved up a gear and established a healthy lead to ran out comfortable winners83-56.

Next Saturday the senior gents conclude their league programme with another away fixture, this time against Prestwick IBC.
The ladies team played host to Lanarkshire in the last game of their season.
They made a good start and held on to their lead for most of the game. The visitors came back at them, but the Dumbarton team held on to their lead and run out worthy winners by 93-76.

Dumbarton IBC faced Whiteinch IBC in the first round of the national championships at Clydebank IBC.
They made a positive start to the competition as the game gave both teams four points each, with Dumbarton winning by 80 shots to 74.

Dumbarton will play their second round tie this Sunday, January 17, against either Fintry IBC or Cowal IBC at Castlemilk IBC.
THE ladies’ international junior team will travel to Wales next weekend, where they will take part in the International Series.
Dumbarton player Michelle Keenan will be playing, while clubmate Annette Christie will be in charge of the team.
