Alexandria bowling club appeals for a new clubhouse

AN Alexandria bowling club has begun the new season without a clubhouse – four months after their old one burned down.

Now members of Argyle BC have appealed to West Dunbartonshire Council to get the ball rolling as soon as possible on a replacement building.

The council leases the clubhouse to the bowlers, who were set to carry out renovation work just before the blaze in December. A delay in the tendering process means the erection of a new clubhouse cannot go ahead, forcing bowlers to use portable huts.
