Indoor bowling: Dumbarton and District clubs play finals

A NUMBER of Dumbarton and District Indoor BC finals were played over the last week.

Results: Ladies Triples: Catherine Beaton, Jacqui Waltham and Ann Jardine 17; Bunty Wilson, Margaret Stickings and Margaret Shields 14

Ladies Two-bowl Pairs: Emma McIntyre and Michelle Keenan 2; Ann Jardine and Mary Morrison 0 (5-4, 9-5)

Senior Fours: Finlay Wilson, Alex McLellan, Charlie Whitfield, Robert Mills 23; Donald Cairns, Dougie Wallace, John Wood, Robert Carmouche 12

The winners of those competitions will represent the club in the national competitions next season.

ON Saturday three more clubs opened their greens for the new season.

Rock Bowling Club members are celebrating their 125th anniversary this year and they opened their green for the new season last Friday evening.

Club president David Miller welcomed guests and members to the opening. Guests on the green included honorary president Ian MacLean and his wife.

Also there were honorary vice president Allan Jardine, SBA junior vice president Ernest M Johnson, DBA vice president Stewart Shields and DABC president Robert Collins.

David invited his mother to officially open the green for the new season.

AT Vale of Leven Bowling Club, President Brian Wilson welcomed a good turn out of members and friends to the opening of the greens for the new season.

SBA junior vice president Ernest M Johnson, and DBA director John Gillies represented their respective associations at the opening.

THE President of Dumbarton Bowling Club, Michael Keenan, welcomed members and friends to the opening of the greens last Saturday.

Guests included John McFall MP and his wife Joan, Sheila Grant, DBA president Alex Campbell and DABC president Robert Collins.

Also in attendance were ladies section vice president Margaret Shields, junior section president Kevin Anderson, secretary Michael C Taylor and treasurer Fraser Gillespie.

After introducing his guests, Michael invited Sheila to officially open the greens for the new season.
