Would-be candidate's 'reward'

A political row has broken out over the future of a former BBC journalist who failed to win selection as the SNP candidate in a Westminster by-election.

Labour hit out over speculation that David Kerr is being lined up for a taxpayer-funded job as a special adviser to the Scottish Government.

The move would be a "reward for failure" and an "abuse of the system", Labour said.
