Card painting fetches £145,000

A painting which features on a popular Christmas card has sold at auction for £145,000, more than double its expected price.

Scottish artist Joseph Farquharson's picture Beneath the Snow Encumbered Branches was bought by a private buyer from Scotland.

It depicts sheep grazing in a snowy field under a setting sun and was valued at £70,000.
