West Dunbartonshire pupils get free maps

SCHOOLS in West Dunbartonshire are being encouraged to take learning in the right direction with a free maps scheme.

The scheme run by Ordnance Survey entitles every Primary 7 pupil to a free OS Explorer Map of their area, as well as teacher copies for their school.

Supporting the scheme, SNP parliamentary candidate Graeme McCormick said: “The Free Maps scheme is a fantastic resource for schools in West Dunbartonshire. In a constituency like West Dunbartonshire with an urban and rural mix map reading is particularly useful in understanding local geography and how the different communities in the region connect together and develop.”

Maps can be ordered by schools at www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/freemapsfor11yearolds. Orders can be placed up to the end of November.
