A LOCH Lomondside road has been named one of the best to drive in the UK.
The A817 from the lochside to Garelochhead emerged top in a poll for its breathtaking views above Glen Fruin.
The road was built by the Ministry of Defence to carry materials for a building project at the Coulport base on Loch Long.
Use was restricted to MoD vehicles only until the completion of the work, when it was passed on to the local authority for public use.
The route was voted fifth in a survey of owners of Caterham sports cars.
