Alexandria primary wishes three sets of twins success at high school

AN Alexandria primary said goodbye to THREE sets of twins last week, who are all preparing for high school.

Incredibly, two of the pairs were born only a week apart at Vale of Leven Hospital – and also share the same surname.

Ross and Jennifer Lamont, John and Christopher Lamont, and Jenny and Sophie Curley, who are all aged 11, spent their final day at Levenvale Primary last week and will move on to the brand new Vale of Leven Academy in August.

Christopher said: “We’ve gone through school together and we’re all good friends.

“But we are being split up at high school and chose to do that ourselves. We were asked if we wanted to stay together, but I think it will be better to meet other people and make new friends.

“We will miss Levenvale because we won’t see as much of our schoolmates, but we’re looking forward to all the different classes we’ll be in.”

Anne Lamont, Ross and Jennifer’s mum, said: “The four Lamonts were all in the special baby unit at the Vale of Leven Hospital at the same time.

“Jennifer was only 3lbs when she was born and Ross was 5lbs, so they were kept in hospital for two weeks.

“The other Lamonts were born a week later and went into the same unit, so they have basically all been around each other since birth.”

Anne Curley, Jenny and Sophie’s mum, said: “We moved to Bonhill six years ago but still kept the kids at Levenvale because they loved it so much.

“They are going out into the big world now – and it only feels like yesterday since they were starting Primary 1.

“There’s been a lot of nice memories at Levenvale, so there will be some sadness when they go on to high school.”

Jenny said: “The last week of school has been great because we’ve been going out to play more and the last day we didn’t have to wear our uniform.

“I’m going to miss a boy in P1 called Ross Murray. I looked after him because he doesn’t always eat his lunch.”

Sophie added: “I’ll miss all my friends and teachers, especially Miss Larking.”
