POLICE are advising motorists travelling in and around the Loch Lomond area during the Scottish Open golf tournament to allow plenty of time for their journey.
Tailbacks are expected on the A82 when the competition starts on Thursday at Loch Lomond Golf Club and continues until Sunday.
A contra-flow system will be in operation to allow access from the A82 northbound and westbound to the course. Speed limits have been reduced at this location to 30mph.
A police spokesman said: “Around 15,000 spectators are anticipated to attend during each day of the event and I would ask motorists to be patient when travelling in and around the area of Loch Lomond Golf Course, particularly during peak times and at the weekend.”
