A YOUNG Dumbarton photographer has snapped up first prize in a competition with a stunning image of Arrochar Alps.
Our Lady and St Patrick’s pupil Daniel Hannaway took the shot – which won first prize in the junior section of Loch Lomond Shores’ first annual photography competition – on a climbing trip up Ben Lomond with his uncle.
As well as having his image displayed at Loch Lomond Shores, the 14-year-old also won £100.
Joint winners of the senior competition were husband and wife Marjorie and Malcolm Alan from Bishopbriggs who shared a £100 prize pot.
Marjorie’s image features the icy winter stillness of Loch Lomond from Ross Priory, whilst Malcolm’s tranquil shot shows boats on the loch at Balmaha.
Clare Gemmell, site manager at Loch Lomond Shores said: “The standard of entries was incredibly high, making judging extremely difficult.
“We displayed as many entries as possible within our Gateway Centre at Loch Lomond Shores and feedback from visitors was that they all enjoyed seeing such a diverse range of local landscapes.
“The winners were equally diverse but all displayed a wonderful talent for photography and deserved to be recognised for their gift.”
