Dumbarton church's plea to keep Christ in Christmas

A DUMBARTON church is backing a nationwide campaign to keep Christ in Christmas.

Canon Gerry Conroy of St Patrick’s Church is urging his parishioners to buy first and second class Virgin and Child stamps, now on sale at the Post Office.

He said: “If people demonstrate that they really want these stamps by buying them to post their Christmas cards and other seasonal mail then, hopefully, this will encourage the Post Office to produce religious stamps every Christmas.”

Canon Conroy has also urged parishioners to put Keep Christ in Christmas stickers on their envelopes and parcels this Christmas.

The church shop is selling a wide selection of religious cards, including some produced locally by the nuns at the Carmelite Monastery in Kirktonhill, Dumbarton. The shop also has calendars, cribs, candles and Advent calendars.
